Portage Lake covers 2500 acres, with a beautiful, rolling coastline, and is located in the Northern part of Manistee County. It has a direct channel into Lake Michigan. The lake is surrounded by the quaint and quiet village of Onekama, where you will find friendly people, free concerts in the park, a grocery store, gas station, post office, marina, and other necessary businesses. Within a 5 mile radius you will find charter fishing, Little River Casino, Lake Michigan, wine tasting, golf, Bear Lake, award-winning restaurants, tennis courts, and more. Within a short drive, you will find Manistee, Arcadia, Frankfort, Crystal Mountain, The Ramsdell Theatre, Interlochen Arts Academy, Point Betsie Lighthouse, and the Sleeping Bear Dunes.
